Introducing Big Red, our very first addition to the Blowfish Art Collective, featuring original artwork created by Idaho artist Molly Karcher.
Born and raised in Idaho, Molly has always found inspiration in the state’s rugged landscapes and wild places. A former river guide, her connection to the outdoors continues to shape her creative perspective and the stories she tells through her artwork.
Beyond creating, Molly is a co-owner of Idaho Made, a small business dedicated to supporting local makers and Idaho craftsmanship. She is passionate about celebrating creativity, community, and the people who make this place special. When she’s not creating or working, she’s balancing life as a busy mom of three while continuing to chase adventure and appreciate the beauty of Idaho.
Long before we became the stewards of Blowfish, Big Red already had a special place in our world.
We purchased this piece from Molly to hang in Sheena’s office because we were drawn to the story it told. The salmon, the river, the connection to Idaho, and the reminder of the wild places that keep us inspired.
When we took over Blowfish, we knew Big Red had to be our first addition to the Blowfish Art Collective.
Not only because it is an incredible piece of art, but because we saw an opportunity to use this platform for something bigger. We wanted to create a way to give back to a nonprofit we believe in and have supported for a long time: Idaho Rivers United.
For Big Red, Molly created a piece inspired by one of Idaho’s most iconic river residents: the salmon.
But this hat is about more than just a fish.
It’s about the rivers that carry these stories.
At Blowfish, we believe the things we wear should tell a story. They should connect us to the places we love and remind us why those places are worth protecting.
A portion of the proceeds from every Big Red hat will go directly toward Idaho Rivers United, a statewide organization dedicated to protecting and restoring Idaho’s rivers and beyond. Their work focuses on keeping rivers healthy, advocating for free-flowing waterways, protecting native fish, and ensuring future generations have the opportunity to experience the same rivers that have shaped so many of our lives.
For those of us who have spent time on Idaho’s rivers, we know there is something special about a river that moves freely.
The sound of water pushing through a canyon. The pull of a current. The wild places that can only exist when rivers are allowed to follow their natural path.
Those places deserve a voice.
Big Red is our small way of helping amplify that voice. Every hat purchased helps support the people working to protect Idaho’s waterways while bringing more awareness to why free-flowing rivers matter.

The Big Red hat is our first piece in the Blowfish Art Collective, a collection built around celebrating the artists, landscapes, and stories that make Idaho special.
Created by Idaho artist Molly Karcher, this design honors one of Idaho’s most iconic river species and the waterways that sustain them.
A portion of every Big Red hat sold will be donated to Idaho Rivers United, supporting their work to protect Idaho’s rivers, advocate for free-flowing waterways, and ensure healthy rivers and fisheries for generations to come.
